Cake frosting and Beatles Blasphemy

I started my day off with cake frosting. On the hood of my car. Apparently some loser was bored last night and my Aveo was their target. I didn’t get upset, as it has not done any permanent damage, plus getting angry wasn’t going to solve anything. I just cleaned it off thinking “who in their right mind would waste perfectly good cake frosting?”

At the end of my day I came across an article in the Tribune referring to an article in british Mojo magazine. The 40th anniversary of the Beatles’ White Album is upon us and they pose the question to readers how they would arrange a single disc White Album. (What you would cut out and so forth…) Now, personally the White Album isn’t my favorite. I think Abbey Road is however my decision bounces back and forth between it and Revolver, but I digress. Still I can’t imagine cutting anything from the White Album. Some of the reader comments have been amusing so I will include the link below.

Monday pants and other stuff…

I can’t wear jeans to work. If I had my way I’d wear them almost every day. I never thought I’d be sentimental about clothes, but I’m having serious denim withdrawal here. Therefore I have what I have dubbed my “monday pants.” Because the last thing I want to think about on a Monday morning is dressing up for work. Believe me, it’s over-rated. No, I do not wear said pants every Monday. That would put myself in the “weird girl who wears the same pants every Monday” category. I got them when I had just graduated from college and needed good clothing for interviewing. Anyways, back then I had shall we say a few extra curves if you catch my drift. Now that I’ve moved on and gotten back into a workout routine these wonderful pants are perfection. They are not noticeably baggy, and not so big they’ll fall off. They’re juuuuuust right. Which brings up the topic of office wardrobes. You see, when you work in an office setting you can tell when one has reached the end of their wardrobe and must do laundry or pick up the dry cleaning (perhaps forgetting the latter). This is where the fun begins. Brown suits that scream 70′s, or my favorite, the disco-era paisley ties make their appearances. Of course endless ribbing ensues. Little things like this make me appreciate shows like “The Office” or movies like “Office Space” that much more. Sure they’re entertaining before, but once you have a real office experience firsthand it just adds a whole new level of funny.
